.When I say I have a lot to learn… I mean it.

Apparently, you can’t just decide to hatch eggs and add animals to a work-in-progress farm. Who knew?

At this point, I’ve hatched so many chicks… and the new coop? Yeah, it’s still not built. I’ve also hatched quail—and guess what? Their space wasn’t ready. So they had to go.

I hatched guinea fowl eggs, and their future home is currently being rented out by the chickens. Why? Because their house is still being built. So they had to go.

We bought a pig, he went into the barn, then we bought 2 pregnant goats and they went into the barn, except the pig wanted to eat them so we made him his own home next to the goats, which turned out to be in the wrong spot because the wind blew the smell of the pig into the barn. It was a nightmare! But the pig is in the freezer, the goats gave birth and we’ve since added 2 more goats and have kept 3 of the kids that were birthed here.

Farm life—it’s a lot messy, a lot loud, and a whole lot of learning and I’m loving every minute of it.
